Last Spring, I attended the A Channel Easter Morning Show, on that show I donated a Family Photo Session that was given away that morning on Twitter. Ironically, one of the people I follow and had met in real life won!
Back in the Spring we had only met a couple of times but we were looking forward to getting together to capture her family. Spring turned into Summer and I was making arrangements to go to San Diego for BlogHer and who should end up being one of my roommates? Yes, you guessed it. We had such a fabulous time and got to know each other so much better. So it was only fitting to come home and make plans for our Family Session.
Although still August, the day was cool and threatened rain, but the children were so sweet and lots of fun. They taught me all about the flowers and vegetables they have growing in their garden, and what an amazing garden it is.
I also got to watch a dinosaur dig, which was quite fun. The most amazing part to me though was that he knew all the names of dinosaurs I had never even heard of. I even asked his Dad if they were the real names, and sure enough he knew his stuff. Another paleontologist in the making I think.
And then there was this sweet little girl. Picking flowers and insisting we put them in our hair. Just lovely. Our secret word was bunny rabbit (ok, it was two secret words) but it kept them looking for bunnies and whispering secrets all to make for a great day.
Thank you so much for having me into your home to capture the beauty that is your Family.
Beautiful photos of a beautiful family! Love the one of mom with the flower in her hair 🙂
Thank you Sara, that is one of my faves too! Such a natural beauty!!
That sister of mine showed off the results of the shoot to me yesterday, love, love them. I’m not sure I could pick a favorite, but I do love that one of the lils back to back on the rail. Wonderful portraits.
Thank you Neeroc! I had a lovely time photographing your sister and her family, those lils were so sweet I could have taken pictures all night long.
